Klargester.
Klargester manufacture high performance package sewage treatment plants for residential applications in the UK. These treatment plants basically take the place of your standard septic tank system, and treats all the waste water that leaves your home via baths, showers, sinks and toilets – commonly known as “grey” and “brown” water – making the end result suitable for use as irrigation.
There are various options available from different companies, but MG Coral have decided on the Klargester BioDisc to start with as it is now a Kingspan Company.
This sewage treatment plant offers a high performance, low maintenance system which meets the rigorous quality standards demanded by European Environmental Agencies. It has a “Rotating Biological Contactor (RBC)” called a Biodisc which uses rotating discs as a medium for supporting bacteria which carry out the aerobic treatment process. As I understand it, this uses natural bacteria and constantly churning and mulching discs to separate the sewage and the water, resulting in water that although not fit to drink, can be re-used for irrigation etc.
There is also no fear of odour issues, and it is reasonably easy to install, whether into a new house or retro-fitted to a home you are already in.
There are systems of all sizes from single house instalations to hotels size systems available.
The klargester system will allow anyone who has one the ability to ensure that the planting and landscaping around the house are preserved just as you would like it.
